The shank buttons on our Estate Jacket are weathered brass and feature crossed Peacemakers and the year of our founding 1836. Interestingly, these buttons are attached using a cotter pin.
Shank buttons with cotter pins (also knows as fastening shanks) were used on dress uniforms during WWII, basically having removable buttons makes uniform cleaning and pressing much easier.
